Day of birth- 12th day of September
When this prince was born into the world, the castle heard certain roosters crow, a rare breed of roosters that had slivers of leaves shaped like circles protruding from their throats. These roosters rarely crowed together and so their cries were seen as an auspicious omen. Kresmir was born in the southern tower and people on the castle lawns, those who had gathered to hear news of the new royal child's birth, saw over two dozen pigeons flying around the tower and then sitting on it. This was considered another rare sight as Thigacia has a saying that 'Great warriors and kings are born when pigeons rise together onto the tower of a castle when the babe enters the world.'
These white pigeons that had extra-large wings sat on the tower for over twenty full minutes. Tiny arrows flew out from their wings and formed one giant blue arrow made of flowers. This garland floated from their wings, down through the window of the queen's room. Kresmir's mother had endured a very long, difficult labour to bring her second healthy son into the world in that dark room in the tower. She saw the arrow made of deep blue flowers called 'Blue warrior blossoms' fly to her and settle onto her left arm, even as she smiled. The pigeons then flew straight into the heavens and vanished.
Right then, she knew that this son of hers would make a good king when he grew older.
When young Kresmir was just fourteen, he saw something that he could not forget. On that cloudy autumn afternoon in October, he was hunting with his older brother and two friends who had grown with them at court. The four young men saw a wounded Chival and wanted to help it. Chivals are the size of horses, with a single long horn that grows from their foreheads. The horn is clear white and over two feet long, while their bodies are always in a shade of bluish grey. They can normally fly away from trouble even without wings. But this Chival was bleeding white blood from its back.
It asked the four young men to help it out of its misery by pulling the large thorn teeming with fangs that moved in circles from its back.
'I am dying because of a dark creature that I saw in the skies. I angered it and so it pulled out this spear from its hair and made me fall to the ground with it. Help me please,' gasped the Chival.
The four young men were all hesitant to touch the spear in the unicorn's back, fearing that the weapon would poison them if they touched it. The spear grew in size and its fangs sank deeper into the Chival's skin. But young Kresmir was moved by the copper-coloured blood staining the forest grass. He jumped off his stallion, ran to the Chival and pulled the spear from its back with four heavy tugs.

The Chival then thanked Kresmir and said that it could heal itself and live. It then asked Kresmir to touch its long horn. Kresmir did so. As soon as he touched it, the dark scar from the deep hunting wound on his right wrist vanished before his eyes. He felt that arm grow really strong and he was always a better archer and swordsman after that day. He was also able to shoot arrows and fight using his left arm. He could never forget the gift of strength that the Chival bestowed on him.
